CIWM (WAMITAB) Level 4 Medium-Risk Qualifications
CIWM (WAMITAB) Level 4 Medium-Risk Operator Primary Competence
To meet the required competency of the CIWM (WAMITAB) Operator Scheme, technically competent people must demonstrate Primary Competence by completing a CIWM (WAMITAB) qualification or gain additional units which demonstrate they have the knowledge and skills to ensure the waste site complies with Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations.
New permits must gain 4 specified units within 4 weeks of the permit issue/site becoming operational, and then you are able to make use of a 12-month grace period to gain the full CIWM (WAMITAB) award.
For Medium-Risk activities, the Operator Primary Competence consists of a 6-unit qualification in the following areas:
- Operator Competence for Non-Hazardous Treatment and Transfer -MROC1
- Operator Competence for Physical Treatment – MROC2
- Operator Competence for Open Windrow Composting – MROC3
- Operator Competence for Closed Vessel Composting – MROC4
- Operator Competence for Anaerobic Digestion – MROC5
- Operator Competence for Storage of Digestate (Wales only) – MROC6
- Operator Competence for Storage of Non-Hazardous Wastes (England only) – MROC6b
- Operator Competence for Open Inert Landfill – MROC7
- Operator Competence for Open Inert Landfill Single Waste Stream – MROC8
- Operator Competence for Closed Inert Landfill – MROC9
- Operator Competence for Non-Hazardous Sludge and Land Spreading – MROC10
- Operator Competence for Dredgings – MROC11
- Operator Competence for Non-Hazardous Waste Transfer – MROC12
- Operator Competence for Contaminated Land Remediation – MROC13
- Operator Competence for Household Waste Recycling Centres – MROC14
- Operator Competence for Non-Hazardous Clinical Waste Treatment MROC15
